President's Welcome
Rusea’s started in 1777 through the benevolence of Martin Rusea. It has produced many outstanding students and has evolved from a small school housed in one complex to an institution of over 2,600 students on two campuses. This evolution has not been without its challenges and now, a major hurdle is to fund the resuscitation of the old (Long Barracks) campus and to improve the facilities of the new (Watson Taylor) campus whilst assisting the school to improve its educational output. Despite the myriad challenges, ROSA is focused on partnering with different stakeholders – including the Ministry of Education, the School Board and the PTA to keep the school strong so it can achieve its broad objectives. At this time, ROSA rededicates itself to assist the Board and the school in the redevelopment programme that will “Make Rusea’s Great Again”. The strategy to achieve this is summarized in the “Way Forward” document featured in another section. Execution of the programme will provide opportunities for involvement of each past student. We must remember that each time we make a contribution in cash, kind or time, we are repaying an investment made in us by our school. Every time we get involved in activities, we signal a belief in the value of our school and the education it accorded us and which we must help current and future Ruseans enjoy. As we go through the phases of this resuscitation and re-development, we hope that the loyalty and passion displayed in many quarters will translate itself to across the board commitments and active support for the plans of the school. I invite all alumni, especially those not yet involved, to get involved NOW by contacting us at: ROSA Secretariat |
